Join Us for Testimony Tuesdays

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary – Psalm 107:2 NASB

There is a stage most questioning or former Jehovah’s Witnesses go through in which we eat, drink, and sleep every book, blog, discussion group, and video of those who’ve passed through the exit struggle before us. Listening to the survival stories of others plays a vital role in maintaining a vision of hope that there really is life after the Watchtower.

Hebrews 12:2 informs us that it is Jesus who authored our faith stories. Therefore, every believer’s testimony is the testimony Jesus wrote. Just as the Holy Spirit preserved the stories in the Bible for our hope and endurance (Romans 15:4), our own stories were written to encourage others. In fact, the Holy Spirit dwells in us for the purpose of testifying about Jesus (John 15:26)!

It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.  — 1 John 5:6 NASB

As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we were trained by the organization to trust and obey them and not the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We agreed with the lie that only 144,000 individuals could be born of Spirit and be led as God’s sons (Romans 8:14) The majority of Jehovah’s Witnesses are left to be led by the doctrines of men. Without the indwelling Spirit, any “power” to witness came from the pressure and perceived promises offered by the organization that we served. While we talked about Jesus and respected Him as a Great Teacher and moral example, we never received the promised power from the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of Jesus as foretold at Acts 1:8.

We said we were Jehovah’s Witnesses, yet had never received the witness of Jehovah!

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son. 10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. 11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. — 1 John 5:9-12 NASB

Just as our website’s name suggests, there are Ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses for Jehovah God. They no longer serve an organization but Jehovah God Himself. And the Holy Spirit has empowered them to be Witnesses Now for Jesus!

Some of the testimonies we will be sharing on Testimony Tuesdays were recorded at the Witnesses Now for Jesus conferences. Joan Cetnar, who founded the first conference with her late husband Bill in 1979 explains here.

Even as our first century brethren through trials were given opportunity for their testimony (Luke 21:13), these Ex-JWs have seized the opportunity to testify at the annual conferences now hosted in California, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. Of them we can say,

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you, — 1 Corinthians 1:4-6 NASB

Therefore, we’re excited to announce that beginning this month, a testimony from an Ex-Jehovah’s Witness will be available each Tuesday on our Facebook page Jehovah’s Witnesses 4 Jehovah. So be sure to like our page and start getting notifications for Testimony Tuesdays!

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony — Revelation 12:11 NASB

Keep yourself in God’s love,
