A Possible Scenario Between Jehovah God and a Watchtowerite in Heaven

Imagine a loyal member of the Watchtower Organization standing in front of Jehovah God, “rendering his account” to Jehovah, according to Romans 14:12  “So, then, each of us will render an account for himself to God.”  NWT

Scenario:

Jehovah:  “So what do you have to say for yourself?”

Watchtowerite:  “Excuse me, Jehovah??  I don’t know what you mean.”

Jehovah:  “Why did you follow corruptible MAN instead of following ME?”

(Psalms 146:3; Jeremiah 17:5,7; Galatians 1:6-12)

Watchtowerite:  “But Jehovah!!  I WAS following you!!   I was obeying YOUR organization!!”

Jehovah:  “And what made you think that the Watchtower was MY organization that you should follow it??”

Watchtowerite:  “Well, the leaders of the Watchtower told me; the Governing Body told me!!  They told me to respect and to believe and to obey, and so I did!!”

Jehovah:  “And why did you just believe what they told you??”

Watchtowerite:  “Why, Jehovah!!  They represent YOU on the earth!!  Listening to the Watchtower, and being obedient and respectful and loyal to the Watchtower, is equivalent to being obedient and respectful and loyal to YOU!!”

Jehovah:  “Is that so??  And why did you believe all that??  Did you check out these claims of MAN according to My Holy Word that I gave to you to follow??”  (Acts 17:11; 1Thess. 5:21)

Watchtowerite:  (Now thoroughly confused) “Excuse me, Jehovah??  I don’t understand!!  The Watchtower Organization ONLY teaches THE ‘TRUTH’!!  They only teach YOUR Word!!  I don’t understand what You mean…I was a ‘GOOD’ Jehovah’s Witness; I did the best I could!!

Jehovah:  “You remind me of Adam, my first human son, who also did not take responsibility for his own choices, but instead blamed another for his actions…”

It is so very sad when we realize that the rank-and-file fail to understand that as responsible adults, we are each accountable for our choices; that God gave us a brain to THINK with; and that no one else is responsible for the choices that we make; that we cannot be like those on trial for war crimes whose excuse was primarily, “I was just following orders…I was a good and obedient solider.  I did my job…”

“The unexamined life is not worth living.”
