Pray Without Ceasing

I’m new to this site and from what I have seen so far I think this is fantastic! The power of prayer should never be under estimated. I am very excited to be able to talk with others who have been delivered. I pray that all our loved ones who are still involved with the Witnesses will see Christ in us through our example, I pray that we are equipped by the Holy Spirit to live as Christ lived.” — Craig

Are you a Christian who has a loved one involved in a cult or false religion? Are any of your family members caught up in a pseudo-christian belief system, such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses or Mormons? We have a particular prayer focus for people struggling with issues in coming out of these groups and also provide a prayer covering for those who minister to them.

This group has been an integral part of my ability to stay focused on being a loving witness of Jesus to those of the Watchtower. Strength and wisdom gained here has played a huge part in my being able to confidently witness of what God has done in my life towards those I am speaking to.” — Scott

Since 2009, we have gathered for prayer on line to intercede on behalf of those struggling with issues related to the Watchtower and Mormon religions.

This is a great place to receive support from others who understand what you are going through reaching your JW and LDS loved ones.” — Christy

Why A Prayer Meetup?
While there are many websites devoted to exposing the beliefs of false religions and providing information to those called to minister to them, we must always remember we are dependent on God, not just counter cult information. We seek His guidance, protection, and Spirit-filling so that we do not grow weary. Ministry is released, empowered and sustained by prayer. As that fire ignites, the information and research is put to much better use. Therefore, in addition to prayer we also encourage members to research information on these groups at 4witness.org, 4jehovah.org and 4mormon.org websites and participate in our online discussions at their respective Meetup groups for former Mormons and former Jehovah’s Witnesses.

As with email prayer chains, requests can be posted anytime and left on the Message Board for others to read. What’s lacking in that type of praying though is the sense of community and interaction as the body of Christ gathered in one accord. That is why our worldwide members also have opportunity to gather on line for a monthly prayer meeting. There is a difference! Whenever two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in our midst. When we gather for “cyber prayer” on line, we can’t hold hands, see one another, or hear our voices, so we type our prayers, join in reading them together and respond accordingly. This is more comfortable for those who have difficulty engaging in small groups in a church setting. It’s beneficial to listen to the way others pray and to experience the presence of God corporately, for someone unable to participate in prayer groups at their local church, they miss out on this aspect. Cyber prayer is the next best thing and can also open the way to more confidence in praying in actual live groups face-to-face.

Prayer is a support to those who are being prayed for and for those who pray.” — Julie

On the day of our monthly on line prayer meetings, we take the top ten names who’ve visited the prayer meetup site that week. Even if they were not able to join us for the on line meeting, they are included as a guest so that we are reminded to pray for them.

Within the thread of prayers that morning is a list with those names on it and link to their Meetup profile. This helps others know who they are praying for. For the person looking to develop a habit in praying for others, that list can be accessed anytime. For example, I use the list to pray through those names once a week.

We offer the prayer meetings once a month and realize not everyone can make the scheduled day and time, but we appreciate those who log on so we can be reminded to list them that month for prayers.

I think it is very encouraging and something worth being a part of. I enjoyed it and it was different than anything I have done before but I did like it.” — Deb

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
You will need a Prayer Meetup account first. To join, simply click on (this Meetup group is now closed) Once you’re a member, you will receive monthly reminders of our on line prayer meetings. No one is obligated to attend, we simply want them to know. Whenever you visit the site at your convenience, the thread for the most current Prayer Meetup will always be at the top of the Message Board. Our group forum is open for prayer requests ANYTIME. No one has to wait until the scheduled monthly Meetup date to post their prayer requests.

But you might wonder, how do we pray on the computer?

You can pray silently in the background during those gatherings, but we encourage you to write out your prayers on our Message Board. Either way, we’re gathered in one accord to praise God in Spirit and Truth, seek healing, and intercede on behalf of others.

Our monthly Prayer Meetings are currently scheduled for every 2nd Tuesday of the month. We meet on line at 8:00 am Mountain time. Check your time zone.

This group has been such a blessing to me. Witnessing to a JW can be difficult and discouraging, but the information, prayer and support I’ve received here has helped tremendously. My desire to shine a light in the shadow of the Watchtower has lead me to dig deeper into God’s word. Quoting another member, “That is the value of God’s hardening them in this generation as He hardened the Israelites of the first century. JWs coming around to the neighborhoods gets a lot of people studying their Bibles again!” I pray that my posts of questions and revelations will help someone else when there is a knock on their door.” — Lori
