July Mission Activity Report

As we move forward in our Mission to the Mormons, we have been blessed to see a significant increase in the number of Mormons who attend Christian Outreach Activities across the Nation. As you may know, Mormons are leaving their faith in historic numbers this year.

We would like to report on our several activities your donations have sustained this month as God moves forward in His Love, Truth and Power.

Teaching the Basics of Witnessing to Mormons

From Mormonism to Christianity Conference in Salt Lake City

In Utah – Last year we received an invitation to represent Witnesses for Jesus at the first Annual three-day Conference, From Mormonism to Christianity. This incredible group of faithful Biblical Christians is lead by Joseph and Amy Cutler (former LDS), whose on-line Ministry has just expanded to an active Ministry into the very heart of Mormonism. In a suburb of Salt Lake City, Kathy and I joined with some of the most influential former Mormons to Teach, Witness and as a Expert Panel, answer poignant questions about the Mormon church. Participants included: Sandra Tanner, Earl Erskine, Andy Poland, Doris Hanson Aaron Shafovaloff and others. It was a powerful three-day conference as the Lord reaffirmed His desire to bring many out of Mormonism.

KATHY’S PRESENTATION ON THE RELIABILITY OF THE BIBLE

After a recent trip to the Holy Land, Kathy Baker speaks on the “The Reliability of the Bible” at the July 2014, “From Mormonism to Christianity Conference in Salt Lake City. Includes a portion of the film produced by Biblical Archeologist… Joel Kramer, “Joseph Smith vs The Bible”, explaining how the Bible could not have been corrupted by past Scribes. Kathy, having been in the Mormon Church for almost 50 yrs., was shocked when she read from the Mormon Bible Dictionary that the LDS belief taught the following today; “The Dead Sea Scrolls, some of which are believed to be as early as the 2nd century B.C., give evidence that the Old Testament text was CORRUPTED at least by that time.” Can you believe what you just read? Look it up, find a Mormon Bible or look it up on-line at lds.org: https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bd/bible?lang=eng&letter=b

The MORMON BIBLE DICTIONARY SAYS that THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS were CORRUPTED! Every Biblical Scholar on the planet has formally and repeatedly CONFIRMED the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the Mormon Church teaches. Thousands of ARCHEOLOGISTS have documented and VERIFIED that the Dead Sea Scrolls, are ACCURATE and validate the Bible as translated since they were written between 250 B.C – 70 A.D. In the Bible it says, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever. –Isaiah 40:8.” In Matthew 24:3 it says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will NEVER pass away.” God the Father sent His son Jesus Christ to earth to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kathy then discovered through further reading in the “Book of Mormon” that Mormon scripture, 1 Nephi chapter 13:24-26 states that the Bible was pure and accurate up until the time of the Apostles. Since archeologists have verified that the Dead Sea Scrolls were written between 250 BC – 70 AD, this would be even before the apostles. MORMON SCRIPTURE, 1 Nephi 13, CONTRADICTS what she read in THE MORMON BIBLE DICTIONARY, that the Dead Sea Scrolls prove that the Bible has been corrupted, which is it?

The fact is that hundreds of world-class Archeologists and Biblical Scholars have identified thousands of ancient and complete copies of both the Old Testament and New Testament… and the texts all agree. They may use the word “however” instead of the word “but”, yet the Doctrine and contextual meaning is always the same. If changes had been made it would stand out like a sore thumb amongst these thousands of copies.

It is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ unique “History”, “Scriptures” and “Doctrine” that consistently demonstrates an exceptionally clear record of being altered, changed, corrected, updated and then rewritten year after year.

The Bible is trustworthy as the final, complete and inclusive Word of God.

TEACHING A ONE-DAY SEMINAR IN ARIZONA

In Arizona – Kathy and I have been so blessed and so humbled by the number of Christian communities that have felt the need to reach-out to the Mormons in their area with solid biblical witnessing, specifically directed at several of the primary Latter-day Saint deceptions. Pastor Dave Marshall of Calvary Chapel in Snowflake, Arizona leads precisely such a Christian community. Pastor Dave, a modest but bold for Christ, African-American has a heart for the Mormons, which comprise some 80% of his local area.

Ex-Mormon Stephanie’s baptism

We presented an all-day Saturday training to over 100 Christians, Mormons and those considering leaving the Mormon faith, entirely from the Authorized LDS Scriptures, Lessons and Manuals in stark comparison to the Word of God. As a result of the Grace of God, several were convicted that day and one dear Sister left Mormonism and was baptized in Christ.

Individual and Personal Counseling with Mormons – On a very personal level, Kathy and I met for several hours and into the evening with a few very precious and valued souls who have been so wickedly and emotionally scarred by Mormonism. The friendships we developed in this short time, will require many months of long-distance study and guidance combined with the solid commitment of love and compassion from the local Christians, who have each passionately dedicated their time and energy to the Lord.

Christian African Radio Programs – This month we ask you to join us in Prayer for the several African Nations, particularly Liberia, now suffering under an Ebola outbreak of devastating proportions.   Yet, in the core of their physical trials, they come to the Lord through the radio programs you support. Following are a few comments received from the listeners of Worship FM in Liberia, given during the very height of this deadly outbreak:

While on my dying bed I heard you preaching. Right there I realized that I needed salvation and that Christ was the only way. I then surrendered and Christ accepted me.” Queenetta, in Monrovia.

What a joy I experience every time I listened to your program Teaching The Truth. My heart have never stop praising my God since I started listening to your program.” Sophia, in Monrovia

All along I have been searching for a program that teaches the truth about salvation. And I believe I have found what I have been looking for, I appreciate your program so much.” Ruth, Margibi County, Liberia

May God continue to bless His lost children within the Mormon faith.

In Christ, Lee and Kathy

Former Mormon Bishop Lee Baker - As a member of the Mormon faith for 32 years, having served honorably in many Leadership positions at the Branch, Ward and Stake level, I forced my own excommunication in 2008 after several painful years of meetings and letters to the highest levels of the Mormon Church concerning questions of doctrine and history.
