Worldwide Prayer on April 11, 2017

On April 11, 2017, Jehovah’s Witnesses will celebrate their annual Memorial in Kingdom Halls worldwide.

“We want to pray for Jehovah’s Witnesses, that their eyes might be opened and come to the Lord Jesus this Memorial. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). As some may know, the majority of Jehovah’s Witnesses refuse to partake of the bread and wine. However, Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no eternal life in you.” (John 6:53) Let’s also pray for those who have left and are seeking for the Lord still! Pray that they will come to know and experience God’s grace and love and mercy and come to Christ. Such a hard and long road, with all the WT teachings so ingrained.
Please spread the word about this event! We will begin our prayers on April 11th at 3 pm Mountain time and will continue until the Memorial is over.”

Social media has allowed former Jehovah’s Witnesses to connect with one another in discussion and sharing of information necessary to overcome the negative effects of the Watchtower religion. The shunned have lost family and friends and made new ones through social media like our Meetup and Facebook groups. Whenever the topic of social media comes up with a complaint, I rush in to defend it because I’ve witnessed too much love there. And this call to worldwide prayer is an example of that.

Please remember those in attendance at the Memorial this April 11 and also those struggling in their absence from it. Pray with us. If you would like to make it known on Facebook that you are praying with us, we invite you to click on this link  Prayer for JW this Memorial Season and mark yourself as “going.”

Thank you.

If you would like to learn more about what goes on at the Memorial from the perspective of a former Jehovah’s Witness, please read my article The Memorial

Keep yourself in God’s love,
Julie

What is the Jehovah’s Witness Memorial?

Celebrating the Memorial Meal of Bread and Wine

Every year on Nisan 14 (the day before the Passover on the Jewish Calendar), Jehovah’s Witnesses gather to observe the anniversary of the death of Jesus. It is similar to the Christian celebration of “Maundy Thursday” or the “Last Supper” that Jesus partook with His disciples just before He died to atone for our sins. Since Jehovah’s Witnesses do not celebrate Christ’s Resurrection or Easter, this is the only event they celebrate in His life. They call it “an observance of the Memorial of Jesus’ Death.” Continue reading “What is the Jehovah’s Witness Memorial?”

Truth Invasion Into the Kingdom Hall Memorial Night

JulieOn Tuesday night, March 26, about 16 of us logged onto this ministries Witnesses for Jesus Christian Prayer Support Meetup  http://www.meetup.com/wfj-prayer/  for our annual prayer and communion “cyber service” in which we pray for the salvation of Jehovah’s Witnesses as they gather in Kingdom Halls worldwide to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ. Two members from the UK even joined in at an inconvenient hour for themselves but we’re so thankful for their prayers.

About 3 weeks before this, a man from my church asked if I’d like to include some information about our ministry at a table in the church lobby where he was displaying some evangelism materials. I brought along some CDs and cards and I briefly mentioned the upcoming Memorial on March 26 but our conversation was interrupted. Apparently I said just enough to wet his appetite as he sent me an email wanting to know more. Continue reading “Truth Invasion Into the Kingdom Hall Memorial Night”
