| .:WITNESSES FOR JESUS PRAISE REPORT
SPRING 2006
Dear Friends,
I’m
excited to report that after a year of dating and four
months of pre-engagement counseling, Bruce and I are
engaged to be married on May 27, 2006! It was almost
two years ago, July of 2004, when Bruce Darlington,
Jr emailed me to let me know how much he appreciated
our website material. Flying as a commercial pilot and
living in Salt Lake City for two years, Bruce kept copies
of our tracts to use in witnessing to his Mormon and
Jehovah’s Witness friends. In September of 2004,
Bruce moved to Colorado Springs and we met face-to-face
in a city park as I was witnessing to four Mormon missionaries.
It’s a long story of how God deepened our relationship
and confirmed His will in our hearts, but we know God
is in our relationship and we are excited to see what
He has planned for our future together.
Some are asking, “Will anything
change in the ministry and what will be Bruce’s
role in the ministry once you get married?” Initially,
there will be little to no change with the ministry.
I will continue to work full-time enhancing the website
with additional material, running our “Message
for Jehovah’s Witness” phone-line ministry,
answering the calls and emails that come into the ministry
and speaking at churches. Bruce will continue to work
full-time as an airline pilot to provide for our personal
living expenses, and as his schedule allows, he will
also join me in meeting one-on-one with people leaving
the cults. In anticipation of the time when I will need
to step back from traveling with the ministry to stay
home with the kids, we are creating DVDs of my training
seminars. We have also hired Jennifer part-time to help
in the office when I am out. Since Bruce and I will
be getting married this May, we appreciate your continued
prayers and financial support as many of the ministry
expenses will remain the same.
As
for news of what God is doing in the ministry, in March,
I traveled to Winnemucca, Nevada to present a seminar
on “Answering Questions Your Mormon Friends Ask”
for Grass Valley Baptist Church’s Community Evangelism
Event. Because Mormonism claims the highest percentage
of the religious population in the town, we targeted
this religion through a public showing of the Bible
vs the Book of Mormon DVD and my presentation afterward.
Sixty-one people from area churches showed up for the
event. We found out that the local LDS Church called
each of its members to tell them not to come. As a result,
we are uncertain if any Mormons attended. Ultimately,
we pray God will use the seeds planted to bring souls
to Himself.
MINISTRY NEEDS:
Your generous support is such an encouragement
to us! Although only 61% of our budgeted income is coming
from individuals who have pledged to support us on a
consistent basis, the additional gifts many of you are
giving is enabling us to stay current on our bills and
have extra money to produce DVDs of our seminars, continue
the Spanish translation of our materials and enhance
our website with additional training material. If you
haven’t visited our site recently, you might want
to check out our new design!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Pray for Bruce and Christy, their upcoming marriage
and new life together.
- Christian inmate Adrian has teamed up with another
Christian inmate to reach Jehovah’s Witnesses
in their prison. Adrian has already used our books
to lead one Jehovah’s Witness inmate to the
Lord, and he is reaching out to several others!
- Praise the Lord that Ron and Debbie’s daughter
Heather (who broke-up with LDS missionary Jacob) is
now dating the pastor’s son Greg at her church.
Pray for God’s leading in their relationship
as they are putting Jesus first!
In His Grace,
Christy Harvey
Director of Witnesses for Jesus Inc.
We are a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit
corporation and are supported by your financial contributions.
All gifts are tax-deductible.
