WINTER 2005

Dear Friends,

What an exciting year 2005 has been! Some of the highlights of this year included seeing two ladies (Mary and Susan) who had been studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses accept Christ. I also spoke at Christian counter-cult events in Maine, Pennsylvania, Utah and Colorado and we distributed approximately 800 tracts to Mormons in Utah.

In July, Alex McFarland (head of the youth apologetics division of Focus on the Family) invited me as a guest on his radio show to discuss the threat of Mormonism to our culture. A few weeks later, Focus printed our “Why They Are Not Christians” article in their workbook for the “Dare to Dig Deeper” youth apologetics conference. In addition to displaying our materials at the conference, we also met several well-known defenders of the faith—including Josh McDowell (author of More Than a Carpenter and Evidence that Demands a Verdict) and Erwin Lutzer, pastor of Moody Church in Chicago and author of the Davinci Deception and Seven Reasons Why You Can Trust the Bible. It was a great conference with over 1,400 in attendance.

In October, Tim, Joe and I traveled to Salt Lake and accompanied Elaine (Salt Lake resident) in handing out approximately 500 “Are You Prepared to Meet God” tracts to Mormons attending their General Conference. It was an amazing trip since we were not only able to share our faith with Mormon conference attendees, Brigham Young University students and LDS missionaries at Temple Square, but we were also able to present our witnessing approaches to Christian students at an evangelical Christian school in Salt Lake. A few weeks after returning from Utah, I spoke at the ex-Jehovah’s Witness conference in Allentown, PA where I met Genna Gomenyuk. He is the director of the Ukrainian branch of the Center for Apologetics Research (CFAR). It was encouraging to hear that he and Carol Hartman are still using our Russian translated tract, “How Can I Have Jehovah’s Approval Upon My Life” to reach Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Ukraine. As we approach 2006, we pray God’s richest blessings be upon you!

Even though our monthly pledge commitment support is running at 70% of our budget, the Lord is continuing to abundantly provide beyond our expectations through the generous gifts from many of you. PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Pray for Susan as she grows in her Christian faith and tries to witness to her Jehovah’s Witness friend Linda.
2. Pray for the salvation of Mormons to whom Joe, Tim and I witnessed to in Utah—especially LDS BYU students: Heidi, Dominic, and Amberlie
3. Pray for Genna and his ministry team at the Centers for Apologetics Research in the Ukraine.
