| .:WITNESSES FOR JESUS PRAISE REPORT
SPRING 2005
Dear
Friends,
We rejoice in the mercy of God who rescued Mary
from indoctrination into the Watchtower organization. Questioning
her Catholic faith, Mary was attracted to the Jehovah’s Witnesses
by their offer of a free home Bible study. She was on the verge
of making the decision to convert when her husband David told her
that he did not agree with the Jehovah’s Witness religion
and would never join them. Deterred by the thought of religious
division in her family, Mary decided to investigate the protestant
Christian faith before making her final decision.
“It all hinges on whether God is a Trinity,”
Mary explained as we met one Sunday afternoon. “If the Jehovah’s
Witness’ view of God is wrong, how can I put my confidence
in anything they teach?” Three hours later, after examining
numerous cases in which the Watchtower misrepresents the biblical
basis and history of the doctrine, Mary exclaimed, “I now
see the deception! Unless Jenny (my Jehovah’s Witness friend)
has a good answer for the lies you’ve shown me in their literature,
I don’t see any reason to continue studying with her.”
We met weekly for a month, discussing Jenny’s arguments from
Scripture and her lack of rebuttal for our research on Watchtower
deception. On February 24th, Mary’s spiritual quest came to
an end when she surrendered her heart to Jesus. Now engaging her
faith at a solid, bible-believing church, Mary is attending Christian
discipleship classes for new believers and is consistently reading
the Bible on her own.
You may remember Mitch whose wife Susan left Mormonism
last Fall and accepted Christ. We rejoice to report that their son
Geoffrey accepted Christ last month, and we trust his younger sister
Magen will be ready to accept Christ soon as well. God is good!
We
are reaching out to Heather, a young Christian lady who is vacillating
over her dating relationship with Jacob, a Mormon missionary who
recently returned from his mission for the LDS Church. Ron and Debbie
(Heather’s parents) are heart-broken over her consideration
to leave the Christian faith to court Jacob. Susan and I have spent
extensive time with Heather, and she is confused about the lies
of Mormonism and her feelings for Jacob. Your prayers are appreciated!
MINISTRY NEEDS:
Your generous support has been a great blessing
to us. We are handling the monthly bills and looking into special
projects to increase the outreach of this ministry. Although a few
of our monthly supporters were not able to carry over their commitment
to the new year, those of you who have —along with new donors
joining the monthly support team— brought us to 80% of our
budget in monthly pledge support. Your financial partnership as
led by the Lord is truly making a difference. Thank you!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Mary’s new walk with Christ and salvation for her family
and JW Jenny
- Christian growth for Ex-LDS Mitch and Susan and their son Geoffrey
and salvation for Magen and extended LDS family members.
- Ron and Debbie’s daughter Heather dating returned LDS
missionary Jacob.
- Christian Sabrina’s JW husband Jared’s salvation
and preservation of the marriage.
- Salvation of Dave’s JW wife Diane and their children
Katia and Daniel.
In His Grace,
Christy Harvey
