| .:WITNESSES FOR JESUS PRAISE REPORT
FALL 2004
Dear Friends,
Few
things in life are more rewarding that being used by God to lead
people out of spiritual bondage into freedom in Christ! Last time,
we reported on Dave and Diane who are leaving the Watchtower after
27 years of involvement. Dave is continuing to take huge steps of
faith in his new walk in Christ, and it is exciting to see his spiritual
growth. However, progress is slow with Diane who is struggling with
significant fear over leaving the Watchtower. Continued prayers
for them and their family are appreciated.
This summer, in addition to ministering to Dave
and others leaving the Watchtower, I had the privilege of seeing
the Holy Spirit lead Susan and her husband Mitch (who had been involved
in Mormonism for several years) to the Lord. While Susan had embraced
Mormonism from childhood, Mitch had converted to it at the beginning
of their marriage but had left on his own after researching its
discrepancies on the Internet.
For five years, Susan and Mitch struggled over
the topic of religion. Mitch wanted to associate with evangelical
Christian circles, while Susan struggled with the fact that to join
a different church would require her to deny the basic tenants of
Mormonism. God intervened when Susan met my Christian friend Kathy
who reached out to her in love. Eventually, Susan agreed to meet
with me and to look at our research on Mormonism. After two meetings
in which Susan was able to see discrepancies in their own books,
she decided to leave her faith. Together she and her husband Mitch
prayed and confessed their sins and turned to the true Jesus of
the Bible. We now meet weekly for Bible study along with their two
children Geoffrey and Magen, who actively participate in our discussions.
God is so good!
In
August, I spoke at an ex-Jehovah’s Witness conference in San
Francisco, California. It was an encouraging time of fellowship
with Christian and ex-Jehovah’s Witness friends who are reaching
out to their loved ones still in the Watchtower. I was blessed by
the presence of my Christian friends Dewey and Pat who I’ve
been helping over email to enlighten their Jehovah’s Witness
son, Mike. Together we shared at the conference how God is using
five simple questions to get Mike thinking.
These questions are posted on our site at:

MINISTRY NEEDS:
Thanks to our God and your generosity, I am now
full-time with the ministry! Your extra gifts have significantly
helped in getting our financial base to the level where I could
leave my outside job. However, we are still in need of monthly financial
partners to meet the budget for this year. Currently, we are at
67% of our budget in monthly pledge commitments. Your financial
support as the Lord leads is greatly appreciated.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Christian growth for ex-LDS Mitch and Susan and salvation for
their kids Geoffrey, Magen and LDS family.
- Ex-JW Dave’s Christian growth and salvation for Dave’s
JW wife Diane and their children Katia and Daniel.
- Ex-JW Echo and her boyfriend Alton who just accepted Christ.
- Wisdom for Christian Brenda sharing her faith with her husband
Shawn who almost converted to the JWs.
- Wisdom for Christian Dewey and Pat reaching their JW son Mike
and his wife Miriam and their children, Daniel, Camille and Ariana.
- Salvation for Mormon elders Anderson and Goodman who we witnessed
to in September.
May the Lord bless you in all your endeavors as
you live for Him!
In His Grace,
