Former Mormon Bishop Speaks to the Mormons in Manti

For the first time in my life, I was moved by the Spirit of God to stand up in my Bishop’s suit above the crowds gathered at the Manti Temple in Utah, and boldly declare the Word of God in stark contrast to the many deceptions of Mormon Doctrine.

Chip of Tri-Grace Ministry wrote: “When Former LDS Bishop Lee took the stand the response was immediate and both the Mormons and the Christians were taken by surprise – for the first few minutes NO ONE knew if he was an active Mormon Bishop or not. Almost immediately a crowd of 100+ gathered around him. Bishop Baker challenged the crowd with the Biblical doctrine of God and the heresies of the LDS religion. The crowd that was drawn by Lee spawned dozens of small group discussions and before the night ended there were 1000’s on the streets engaged in amazing gospel discussions.”

Several hundred individual witnessing opportunities were reported by our fellow Christians as I preached the True Gospel of Jesus Christ, while reading out loud the conflicting teachings directly from the Mormon Scriptures themselves. Through this method of preaching, no member of the Mormon Faith could question or contradict my teaching. At one point, while reading the clearly racist and bigoted statements found within the current Book of Mormon, I had a young African-American Sister and Brother in the Lord stand with me as a graphic representation of the despicable doctrine that all Mormons must own.   Three successful evenings of witnessing brought the True Gospel of Jesus Christ to many hundreds, and several Mormons came to the Lord and publicly renounced their former beliefs.

Chip added: “I have to admit that God continually surprises me. Last night I just stopped and looked at the masses of people on the streets and tears filled my eyes as I realized that 100’s if not 1000’s of Mormons were being challenged with the truths of God’s word at that very moment! God is Good; All the Time!”

Please continue to PRAY for this outreach. Tri-Grace Ministry has 200+ Christian Missionaries, many of which are high school and college age youth. They are being valiant warriors for Christ – but they are young and for many this is their first street witnessing experience. Tonight will be one of the biggest pageant nights with 15,000+ Mormons in attendance. PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! That God will open blinded eyes and open deaf ears to hear the truth. Pray for peace on the streets – last night was a perfect night, no major drama. Pray that God’s Spirit will rule in the hearts of God’s people and speak through them.

Former Mormon Bishop Lee Baker - As a member of the Mormon faith for 32 years, having served honorably in many Leadership positions at the Branch, Ward and Stake level, I forced my own excommunication in 2008 after several painful years of meetings and letters to the highest levels of the Mormon Church concerning questions of doctrine and history.
