“WHOSOEVER LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE. Do you believe this?” – A John 11 Testimony

Anne MarieHi I’m Lee. For 32 years my wife and I raised our family Mormon. I was a High Priest and Bishop and our son served a mission in Brazil. As Mormons, we believed we were following Christ, until we discovered Polygamy, Polyandry, Blood Atonement, Lying for the Lord, and many other corruptions and false teachings in Mormonism. In spiritual turmoil, loving Christians reached out to us. bullets

Anne MarieHi I’m Trish. I was a Jehovah’s Witness for 42 years. I was lost and I was hungry and I didn’t know what for… until I found out who Christ really is. In all those years going door to door with my Bible, no one ever shared Christ with me. I don’t think they knew how. I don’t think they knew they could or that they needed to. I’m just so grateful someone finally did. bullets

Don't Take GRACE Lightly!

Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints. For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. (Jude 3-4)

I recently received a letter from a Christian who considers it a sin if we don't keep the Sabbath on Saturday. We have exchanged letters through the years because they had questions about their neighbor who is one of Jehovah's Witnesses. They had told me they attend church on Saturday and asked what I understood about that. In past correspondence we've discussed the Sabbath but more recently they became offended when I wrote that Jesus fulfilled the law and therefore, dietary laws or holy days kept by the Jews no longer apply. I explained that once a heart is circumcised by God's Spirit, the law is written on their hearts and guides them from there. They seemed to think I was advocating that grace gave everyone a license to sin and that I must not even believe in the law of gravity then! I explained the law in question was the Mosaic law, not the natural laws put in place by God. Even so, they wanted to hold me accountable to judgment because I said Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic law. In view of encouraging those of you who've dealt with someone challenging your faith in Jesus' finished work, I'd like to share a portion of my response to this writer.

What is the Jehovah's Witness Memorial?

Celebrating the Memorial Meal of Bread and Wine

Every year on Nisan 14 (the day before the Passover on the Jewish Calendar), Jehovah's Witnesses gather to observe the anniversary of the death of Jesus. It is similar to the Christian celebration of "Maundy Thursday" or the "Last Supper" that Jesus partook with His disciples just before He died to atone for our sins. Since Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christ's Resurrection or Easter, this is the only event they celebrate in His life. They call it "an observance of the Memorial of Jesus' Death."

Discussing Joseph Smith's Claim to be Better than Jesus with Mormons

robIt was another great year at the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti Utah! The pageant ran 8 nights starting on the 16th of June through the 18th and the 21st through the 25th of June.

This year was the 50th anniversary of the pageant, so Doug, my evangelism partner and best friend, decided to help in the Christian witnessing efforts of the 50th anniversary celebration with a new shirt that read, “The Church of Joseph Smith of Latter-day Saints.”

Lee and Kathy challenge Mormons on the streets of Utah

Kathy and I spent several days witnessing and teaching at the 50th Anniversary of the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, Utah. Over 250 Christians from around the Country meet in this small Mormon Community to participate in the largest single outreach to the Mormon people each year. Our witnessing to the young adults of the Mormon Church was particularly well received as they honestly want to know the Truth, and yet they instinctively know that they have been deceived to some degree.

Have Mormons found evidence of Hebrews in America?

For years, Mormons have been looking for archaeological evidence to support their Book of Mormon. Occasionally, they will promote some type of archaeological artifact that is similar to something built or written by Hebrew people to try to validate their claim that the Book of Mormon people were indeed from the land of Israel.
